About / Overview
Before joining Erlanger, Dr. Amy Wells was a staff pediatrician at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. Her previous clinical experience also includes staff hospitalist and pediatrician roles at Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD; Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD; and Naval Hospital Pensacola in Pensacola, FL.
Dr. Wells has served as a preceptor for Walter Reed's Pediatric Residency Program and for the Naval Hospital Pensacola Family Medicine Residency. Her teaching experience also includes being an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics for the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda.
While at Walter Reed, Dr. Wells also served as Primary Care Medical Home Team Leader, and prior to that as Director of Continuing Medical Education for the hospital’s department of pediatrics. Her roles at Naval Hospital Pensacola included being Physician Chair of the hospital’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Implementation Committee and Pediatric Chair of the Acute Care Committee.
Dr. Wells is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
